March 15 (Saturday): Hobcaw Creek Loop Trip: Remley’s Point to I 526 on Hobcaw Creek loop trip. About 9 miles.
Non club members and member guests must contact the trip leader before the trip.
Boat type, size, and paddling skills should be discussed with the trip leader.
Rating: L2, Moderately Sheltered
Where: Meet at Remleys Point Landing in Mt Pleasant (Put Remleys Point Public Boat ramp in your mapping app) and launch by 9:00.
Logistics: High tide at I-526 is about 10:30. We’ll take the tide up to I-526 and then return, stopping by club member Mike Lanterrman’s dock and house for a break. We’ll then continue with the falling tide back to Remleys Point.
Expect to be back at the landing by 2:00

Circumnavigate Sullivans Island 8 or 9 miles.
Non club members and member guests must contact the trip leader before the trip.
Kayak must be 14 feet or longer. Skills requirement: there could be choppy water on the ocean side of Sullivans Island. Spray Skirt is not required but is recommended.
Rating: L3
Where: Meet at Station 26 Kayak/Canoe launch on the Marsh side of Sullivans Island, at 10:30 and be ready to launch by 11:00am.
Logistics: Low tide 9:30 am, High tide is about 3:20. The trip should take no more than 4 hours, but this depends on the pace of the group. We will stop for lunch on the ocean side of Sullivans Island.
Plan to be back at the landing no later than 3:00.

Wambaw Creek Boat Ramp

March 30: Sunday): Wambaw Creek and Santee River: Wambaw Creek Bridge, up the Santee to Chicken Creek, and then back down Chicken Creek for the return leg. About 12 miles.
Non club members and member guests must contact the trip leader before the trip.
Boat type, size, and paddling skills should be discussed with the trip leader.
Rating: L3, sheltered
Where: Meet at Wambaw Creek Bridge and be ready to launch by 9:00.(Put Wambaw Creek Boat Ramp in your mapping app. Do not be confused with Wambaw Creek Still Landing...that is the wrong landing).
Launch by9:00 .
Logistics: High tide on the Santee at the South Santee intersection is about 11:00. We’ll go against the incoming tide for about 2 miles going out Wambaw Creek. The incoming tide will help us go up the South Santee River. We’ll take a break at the intersection of Chicken Creek and the Santee River and then paddle back with the falling tide to Wambaw Creek, where out last 2 miles will be against the outgoing tide.
Expect to be back at the landing by 3:00

Note 1: We will have about 4 miles total going against the tide, but on Wambaw Creek, it really is not much of an issue.

Note 2: If the Santee River is high, this will not work. If that happens, the club will be notified and the trip will be moved to Wadboo Creek, going upstream on Saturday, the day before.
