Sparkleberry Swamp
May 18 (Saturday): Sparkleberry Swamp Loop Trip. About 8 miles. Rating: L1, Sheltered, slow pace Logistics: Paddlers are encouraged to camp at Santee State Park on Friday. Everyone, campers and those who do not camp will meet at the rest stop on I-95 just past the Santee exits (this is the rest area before you cross the bridge over the lakes put “Rest Stop I 95 North Santee” in your mapping app).
Meet at the rest area at 10:00, leave at 10:15 and proceed to the swamp. Plan to be back at the landing no later than 2:30.
