Members of the Lowcountry Paddlers share a common interest in paddling the coastal waters, rivers, creeks, swamps, and lakes of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Experience levels vary from Beginner to Expert while boats range from Sit-on-Tops to Expedition Sea Kayaks.
We plan numerous trips throughout the year with the latest schedule posted on the Club Paddles page. On that page, you will also see our Club Trip Policy.
Members of the club also plan Show-n-Go paddles. These gatherings are not official club events, but rather impromptu get-togethers that may occur weekdays, at night, away from the immediate area, etc. Sign-up is not required; just “Show up at the launch aNd Go.”
We also hold monthly meetings plus occasional social events throughout the year. Our monthly newsletter, The Yakker, is available online and contains the latest details.
Our monthly meetings, usually held on the third Monday, are informal, open to non-members and guests, and a great way to learn about the club and to meet our members. We have a guest speaker from 7:00 to 8:00 followed by a short session of club business. Meetings generally conclude by 8:30 p.m.
In all, we have fun and enjoy paddling with new-found friends and to new places. Join us at a meeting or on a paddle and see for yourself what we are all about.

Instruction & Equipment: The club provides neither equipment nor instruction. For instruction, we encourage every paddler from novice to expert to avail themselves of the many excellent courses offered by Charleston County Parks. Initial Membership dues are:
Single: $15 club dues plus $30 ACA membership = $45
Family: $21 club dues plus $40 ACA membership = $61
To join, please complete a Membership Application and ACA Waiver for each person. The forms are in the left column of this page. The membership year is Jan 1 - Dec 31. Bring your check (made out to Lowcountry Paddlers), application, and ACA waiver to the next meeting, club paddle or event - OR - mail your check, application, and ACA waiver to:

We will sign you up with the ACA as a new member; you are required to keep your membership current. The ACA will bill you annually.
