LCP Update
<Unknown>

Do you remember our LowCountry Paddlers Club brochure? We produced that in 2014. It provided a snapshot of what great experiences we have as LCP club members. South Carolina offers great opportunities for all paddle sport enthusiasts. These paddling opportunities are even better when you enjoy them with others! That is what LCP is all about, making new friends, improving our paddling skills, and exploring our waterways together.

But our club is now at a crossroad. The term of our elected officers has expired, and we have yet to see anyone step forward to take the helm. The COVID social distancing restrictions have also impaired our ability to function as a club.

If you would like to help LCP carry on its legacy and grow as the best paddling group in town, please let us know. Our President and Vice-president positions are now vacant, though Ken and myself continue to support the club through this challenging time.

Can you help? Will you serve? Our LCP team will support you!

Sincerely,

Randy Smith - LCP VP (ret)

Ralph Earhart
Fellow Paddlers,

Our club leadership situation is dire and time is running out.  The club needs at least two people to step forward and take over Ken and Randy's positions.

Ken will be leaving town soon for an extended period. We must have a turnover to a new president before he leaves.
Randy has faithfully served for years and must be relieved.

I'm sure a many of you could do the jobs, but have not stepped forward hoping someone else would. No one else has stepped forward.

This will be an "easy" year program-wise to be in a leadership position.  I do not expect we will be holding club meetings until the vaccine has been widely distributed. That may be well into the spring. From a club meeting standpoint and program standpoint, you will only be facing a few months of public leadership.

Our club has the infrastructure set up...our web page with Club Express works very well; we have a talented and dedicated  webmaster.  We have super co-secretaries, and I'm continuing to serve as treasurer and will be leading the trip planning when we can finally start operations. Ken is willing to serve as membership chairman.  So the infrastructure is there, we just need the leadership. Our show and go outreach is vibrant.

So please...do not wait any longer, do not kick the can down the road, contact Ken and talk to him about taking over for him  and contact Randy about taking over for him.  We can work out the election details once we have a slate to present.

Ken and Randy's email addresses are on the club's web page.

This really is serious.
