Good morning kayaking friends!
Sign-up for the Cooper River marsh paddle on Saturday.
We will launch on the Cooper River side of Bushy park put-in. Please arrive a little early to to make sure we catch the last of the incoming tide.
Bring your spray skirt, the river is wide at this point and if the wind is up, it can get bouncy. I don’t recommend kayaks less than 14 ft. for this adventure.
I really enjoy this paddle.. it has a little of everything. We will paddle 2 miles crossing an open body of water. Time to work on your best paddle stroke ☺️ and then we are rewarded with a leisurely paddle true the marsh and some beautiful scenery. If the grasses haven’t choked off my usual path we can make a big loop to head back.
We will stop for a rest break about half way so bring a snack!
Keep fingers crossed that it doesn’t storm! Please let me know if you are joining the group. If we get rained out I will try to notify everyone so I need to know who is coming.
