I know this is a paddling club, but I would like to invite you to join me for a day at Poinsett State Park this Tuesday, October 26.
It's an amazing intersection of multiple ecosystems plus it encompasses the closest hill to Charleston. Introduction to Poinsett State Park
It's a two hour drive from here, and the park opens at 9:00am. Lot's of trails gentle hills and beautiful woodlands. Plus you will have a Geologist and Master Naturalist with you as a guide.
I figure on hiking 5-7 miles but there are lots of options for shorter/longer.
