Good morning paddler Friends!
Elsa is coming our way and like all of you I have been watching the weather forecast. It looks like the storm will be past us by Saturday, so I think we will be able to have our trip leader paddle as planned.
So, If you have been a trip leader or if you have been thinking about leading a trip at some point, come and join us. If the winds are still high we may decide not to launch and hold “ground school” in the grassy area at the far end of the parking lot. But the plan remains to paddle around Drum Island and stop on the far side where there is a sandy beach and a good spot for in-water practice.
Please come prepared to paddle one mile across open water to Drum island and back.
…a kayak of at least 14ft is required. Bring your spray skirt. Also bring your ideas, thoughts and let’s talk about what we do well as trip leaders and what we can do even better.
