Lake Moultry paddle this Sat
Author Last Post
Unfortunately I just ripped one of my Hullavator arms off of the top of my vehicle while exiting my garage. Therefore, I have no way to carry my kayak and I will have to miss this trip. Boohoo. I will be spending Saturday at Timeout Sports hoping they have the spare part I need. Have fun everyone!

Hello Lake Moultry Paddlers,

It's looking like the move to launch an hour early tomorrow was the right move. The "back door cold front" shouldn't present itself till after we exit (I hope), other wise we may be ducking up against the forest line as any thunderstorm passes. So pack your gear tonight and plan on a McDonald's road breakfast. Bring a lunch for the sand beach. Plan to be there at 8:30 and we'll launch at 9:00. I hear we have a brand new member planning to join us tomorrow, Sherrie. This should be a good paddle in a pretty and special area of our low- country. Call me if you have any thoughts.

Thanks for the update and I will be watching for more.  I hope the weather goes away!

Hello Fellow Paddlers,

As a reminder this Saturday is our club paddle out of Russellville Landing in Lake Moultry. This is a nice area of the lake as we paddle along the north shore in clear shallow waters, surrounded by cypress trees. When Julie and I went up a week ago I just wanted to fall out of my kayak and hang out on the white sand bottom, that is till Julie spotted a large alligator. Welcome to the southeast.

The paddle is presently scheduled to launch by 10:00 am. You may have heard of the front coming in during the afternoon with the possibility of thunderstorms. With this looming in the forecast I'm moving that launch time forward a bit to 9:00 am. I'd go earlier except for the distant location of the place. I'll be watching the weather tomorrow (Friday) and announce any changes. Watch your email.

Dan
