No Jocassee this year?
Author Last Post

I am interested in the trip to Inverness, Fl. Are there any other details yet? Other interested people?

When I was in the area in January, shuttles were closed due to Covid. However, FL may have already opened everything up. No one was wearing masks in January. I was not comfortable with that. Hopefully safer in the summer.

Should this be on a separate thread from the Jocassee trip?

I am so sorry to hear about Jocassee being booked up. That is a great trip! Maybe there will be a cancellation....

Paddling the springs in Central Florida is my favorite...Riverside Lodge & Cabins in Inverness, Fl very clean and close to my favorite rivers.  It’s about a 6-7 hour drive to Inverness.

Rainbow River, Silver Springs, Weekie Wache all less than an hour drive...Juniper Springs is a little over an hour but worth it!  The Ichetucknee River is the one we usually paddle on the drive down to Inverness or on the way back.  Weekie Wache and Juniper offer shuttle services.

We’ve gone for a weeK many times or long weekend...drive down on Wednesday, paddle Thursday, Fri & Saturday...back home Sunday.

I'm interested in Florida information.

I only have third hand reports, but I was told the below campground is nice and you can kayak right up to some of the sites.

Hello Folks, I just went looking at the campground up at Devils fork St Pk and it looks to be booked now for Sept and Oct. August is out as it's prime hurricane time and on the warm side. I had a suggestion of Table Rock but I've seen their campground and not excited by it. Plus it's a long was from Lake Jocassee. We need to remember next year to schedule in Feb for this trip.Something to think about for people that don't like to schedule that far ahead. Another thought I had a point to point on the Suwanee R in Fl We could select a park in Florida and paddle different springs. Does anyone have any thoughts for a fall club trip? Speak up please.
