L2 Essentials of Kayak Touring Trip Leader Course-...
Author Last Post

LCP is dedicated to continued education and are offering 5 people to participate with an upcoming L2 Essentials of Kayak Touring Trip Leader (EKTTL) "Assessment Course”. The assessment course is for people who lead other paddlers in protected waters. Successful completion requires demonstration of technical proficiency, trip planning, group management and leadership skills in an L2 venue.

This will be hosted over two days, specifically November 7th and 8th. Each day will be around 8 hours. The clubs Safety and Education Funds will be covering the cost of this to encourage our members growth! To sign up for the leadership training please email Michelle at mlichtsinn@gmail.com. Bev Cosslett of Sea Kayak Carolina will be the instructor.

The assessment would start with a one-on-one classroom or Zoom discussion, covering topics not covered in the training session. After the classroom portion Bev will give feedback/homework to do to prep. The Assessment day is a full day on the water. We will do a 5-6 hour trip with a larger group, where the students will take the lead and demonstrate skills for Bev to assess. The trip being led by the students will be a Show-and-Go for all of our members (no cost).

*Course docs attached.

We look forward to having you as either a student or as part of the water day!

My best,

Michelle Lichtsinn
