Dan,

I want in on that please.

FYI… I’ve been fishing in Pennys Creek several times in my motor boat.  There is a low bridge that my boat cannot get under, however I’m pretty sure that we will be fine in kayaks.

See you Saturday!

Alan

Hello Everyone,

Susan had to run out of town this week to take care of a family issue and she asked me to lead her paddle. If it's all right with you I'm making a change to the paddle. One that I suspect some people will be interested in. We're still launching from Riverland Terrace, launching at noon. No change there. My plan is to paddle out Elliotts Cut into the Stono and then left towards the Maybank Hwy bridge. Once at the bridge we'll then proceed across the river, to the left side of the bridge and enter Pennys Creek. The creek winds mildly thru the marsh parallel to the Stono, reentering the river about 3 miles up. We'll then paddle back down the Stono into Elliotts Cut back to the landing. Talking to Ralph we expect this will be a bit over 10 miles. On paddling to the creek entrance we'll be against the incoming tide, but paddling in a river eddy caused by a bend in the river. Then we'll have the tide with us up the creek. By the time we exit the creek the tide should be ready to change, giving us an assist back down. The wind looks to be coming across from West Ashley, just enough to keep us cool. I've always wanted to paddle this creek and this is the prefect opportunity with everything in our favor. I do hope you agree and decide to come out to join us. Ralph does plan to come along. Please sign up online via the calendar so we'll know to look for you before we launch. Heh this is a club paddle that allows you to sleep in a bit. How nice is that.

See you this Saturday
